The space station Taurus sits a couple light years from the Gum Nebula border. It is the staging point for several deep space exploration missions into yet uncharted areas of the United Galactic Republic designated space.

Taurus is an E-class station, commonly referred to as the egg stations for is almost egg like shape. The station has several section held together by different columns. The gaps are commonly used as landing bays for small and medium sized ships, while larger ships are required to maintain an orbit and attached to the station via a retractable service tunnel.

The station is meant to be beyond self sustaining so that is doesn't require a lot outside supplies and can restock a fair amount of the traffic it receives, however trade still plays a huge role in the stations success.
